Shining Bright: PM Modi Inaugurates ₹5,492 Cr Bikaner Solar Giant

In a major stride toward India's green energy targets, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated SJVN’s 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project on July 4, 2026. Built by SJVN Green Energy (SGEL) across 5,000 acres with an investment of ₹5,492 crore, this is India's largest single-location EPC solar project under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) framework.

Championing Atmanirbhar Bharat, the plant features 100% locally sourced components—including 24.22 lakh solar modules and 175 crore solar cells. Over its 25-year operational life, the project will supply clean power to Rajasthan, J&K, and Uttarakhand, generating over 56,000 million units of electricity and cutting carbon emissions by 2.79 billion kg.
