₹69 Crore Shot in the Arm for Punjab’s Medical Colleges

To strengthen healthcare infrastructure and enhance medical services in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has approved the immediate release of ₹69 crore for the state’s leading medical colleges.

During a review meeting, CM Mann underscored the need to equip medical colleges with advanced machinery to improve diagnostic and treatment capabilities. The ₹68.98 crore allocation will be distributed across four institutions: ₹26.53 crore for Government Medical College, Amritsar; ₹28.51 crore for Government Medical College, Patiala; ₹9.43 crore for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Medical Sciences, SAS Nagar (Mohali); and ₹4.51 crore for PGI Satellite Centre, Ferozepur.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the funds should be utilised for upgrading infrastructure and procuring the latest medical equipment, reinforcing the state’s commitment to providing high-quality healthcare to its residents.
