Rs 575 Cr Super Speciality Hospital Project Takes Off in Nagpur

Construction is officially underway for the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Super Speciality Institute of Medical Education and Research in Indora, Nagpur.

Spearheaded by the Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) under Commissioner Sanjay Meena, this Rs 575.79 crore project spans 7.74 acres. Jointly funded by the Social Justice and Medical Education Departments, the 615-bed facility will deliver advanced clinical care and postgraduate medical programs, significantly enhancing healthcare accessibility in North and Central Nagpur.

Following the site handover by Indira Gandhi Medical College in July 2025 and the acquisition of all environmental clearances, construction is moving forward with the main building's raft foundation currently in progress. The project has a 36-month timeline, with completion targeted for June 2028.
