Reliance Acquires Naturedge, Expands into Ayurvedic Drinks

Reliance Consumer Products Ltd. (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, has acquired a majority stake in a joint venture with Naturedge Beverages, marking its entry into India’s growing functional and health-focused beverage market.

The partnership centers around Shunya, Naturedge’s flagship brand offering zero-sugar, zero-calorie herbal drinks infused with ingredients like Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Kokum, Khus, and Green Tea. Launched in 2018 by Siddhesh Sharma of the Baidyanath Group, Naturedge draws on a century of Ayurvedic expertise and also markets products under the brands Shunya and Armour.

Commenting on the acquisition, RCPL Executive Director Ketan Mody said the move strengthens RCPL’s beverage portfolio with Ayurveda-inspired offerings. “This aligns with RCPL’s vision to offer high-quality, affordable products while promoting India’s wellness traditions,” he noted.

Since its establishment in 2022, RCPL has been aggressively expanding its beverage presence through acquisitions like Campa and product launches including Campa Energy and Raskik. The company now plans to scale Shunya nationally and broaden its portfolio to include energy drinks, shots, herb-infused waters, and other wellness beverages.
