On 19 December 2025, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stepped up efforts in Delhi to secure approvals for key infrastructure and industrial projects. He met Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri to discuss the proposed ₹96,862-crore refinery project, which he described as a landmark investment for the state.
The refinery is expected to significantly enhance India’s refining capacity and strengthen energy security. CM Naidu informed the Minister that 6,000 acres of land have already been allotted for the project and that the public hearing for environmental clearance has been completed, paving the way for faster execution.
Highlighting the project’s economic impact, Naidu said it would generate large-scale employment, spur industrial growth, and boost the state’s economy. He also outlined plans for MSME ancillary units and noted that 3,488 acres have been earmarked for a shipbuilding project, for which the techno-economic feasibility study has been completed. These initiatives are aimed at fulfilling commitments under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.
