On October 27, 2026, the Maharashtra Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, approved key amendments to the state’s Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Policy 2026. Aligned with point 100 of the Viksit Maharashtra @ 2047 roadmap, the updated policy includes a ₹200 crore Viability Gap Funding (VGF) allocation for FY 2026–27.
To boost administrative efficiency, 11 specific policy modifications were introduced, clarifying risk allocation and streamlining project workflows—such as removing the Network Planning Group Committee's initial scrutiny stage for in-principle approvals. Furthermore, the revised framework introduces provisions for monetising public assets like state-owned land and buildings, while ensuring strong emphasis on feasibility, transparent bidding, and expedited execution for infrastructure projects.
