Engineers India Ltd. (EIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (NPCIL) to provide engineering services for the conceptual design and development of structures, systems, and components of the Bharat Small Modular Reactor (BSMR).
The MoU was signed on August 12 at NPCIL’s Mumbai office in the presence of EIL Chairperson & MD Vartika Shukla and NPCIL Chairman & MD BC Pathak, along with senior officials from both organisations.
EIL, under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, delivers end-to-end engineering solutions across industries, while NPCIL, under the Department of Atomic Energy, is India’s premier nuclear power operator.
EIL stated that the collaboration aligns with the government’s vision to scale up clean, green, and reliable nuclear energy, contributing to the “Nuclear Energy Mission for Viksit Bharat” and the target of achieving 100 GW of nuclear power capacity by 2047.
