Port Power-Up: New ₹132Cr Bridge Approved for Deendayal Port

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has approved the construction of a Road Over Bridge (ROB) at level crossing 235 at Deendayal Port, aimed at strengthening port-led development and improving connectivity.

The project, estimated at ₹132.51 crore, is part of the Government of India’s flagship Sagarmala Programme and aligns with the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, which seeks to enhance multi-modal connectivity and logistics efficiency across the country.

According to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, the ROB is expected to improve port infrastructure and facilitate smoother cargo movement. The project is being executed by Western Railway on a deposit basis.
