PMC Greenlights Rs 30 Crore Land Deal for Airport Connectivity

The PMC Standing Committee has formally approved the acquisition of 14,629.76 square meters of land at an estimated cost of Rs 30.84 crore to facilitate the construction of a 30-meter-wide alternate access road to Lohegaon Airport. This initiative is designed to complement the Indian Air Force’s modernization and expansion program by mitigating the impact of the pending closure of the existing 12-meter access road.

The acquisition process will be governed by the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. The alignment, already incorporated into the development plan by the state government following a 2020 civic approval, is now pending ratification by the PMC General Body.
