A high-level delegation from Oil India met Housing & Urban Development Principal Secretary Usha Padhee at Kharabela Bhavan on 25 November 2025 to review the progress of six upcoming compressed bio-gas (CBG) plants in Odisha.
Led by CMD Ranjit Rath, CGM Santanu Kumar Saikia, and OGEL Rajeev Kumar Tamuli, the delegation discussed project timelines, commissioning readiness, and the integration of municipal waste streams into the CBG facilities. Both sides highlighted the significance of converting urban waste into green energy as part of Odisha’s broader clean energy strategy.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to fast-track coordination between Oil India and local bodies to ensure timely commissioning of the plants. Additional Secretary Binaya Kumar Dash was also present.
