NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to develop large-scale renewable energy projects across the state. The MoU was signed at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference held in Rajkot on 12 January 2026.
The non-binding agreement envisages the development of solar, wind, hybrid, and battery energy storage projects, with an estimated investment potential of approximately ₹25,000 crore. These projects will be implemented by NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLCIL, as part of its strategy to achieve 10 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Dr. Devendra Pratap Singh from NLCIL and Bhakthi Shamal representing the Government of Gujarat. The partnership reinforces Gujarat’s role as a key renewable energy hub and aligns with India’s broader objectives of expanding non-fossil fuel-based power generation and achieving Net Zero emissions.
