As part of a major green initiative, the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) will develop five themed parks in the newly established IT City sector of Mohali. These parks — the Herbal Garden, Rose Garden, Bougainvillea Garden, Palm Garden, and Fragrance Garden — are designed to boost the city’s ecological value and aesthetic appeal.
Each park will showcase a unique botanical theme, featuring rare and diverse plant species sourced from states such as Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Bihar. Together, they aim to offer a rich, multisensory experience rooted in biodiversity and natural beauty.
The parks will be maintained under a dedicated three-year contract to ensure proper upkeep. In addition, plantation work is being carried out along the roads of IT City, supported by a five-year maintenance plan. All landscaping follows international design standards, ensuring not just greenery but vibrant and thoughtfully designed public spaces for residents and visitors alike.
