Nagpur is on track to become a leading hub for the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) sector in Maharashtra, following the state Cabinet’s approval of the AVGC-XR Policy 2025.
With a planned investment of ₹3,268 crore, the policy aims to attract ₹50,000 crore in private investment and generate two lakh high-tech jobs by 2050. In a meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, AVGC-XR was granted official recognition as both an industry and infrastructure sector.
The government will establish AVGC-XR Parks in key cities including Nagpur, Mumbai (Film City), Navi Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Kolhapur, Satara, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. These parks will feature advanced infrastructure such as motion capture studios, post-production labs, AI-driven animation facilities, and metaverse development zones.
Additionally, 60% of industrial zone land will be reserved exclusively for AVGC-XR development.
