To modernise urban governance and streamline real estate approvals, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is set to introduce an advanced AI-driven system.
The initiative aims to automate key approval processes, reduce manual intervention, and accelerate decision-making through data-driven insights. The platform will integrate multiple civic approval systems, enabling developers, architects, and consultants to submit and track applications in real time, significantly shortening approval timelines that have traditionally slowed project execution.
The AI-enabled system will incorporate tools for document verification, compliance checks, and predictive analysis, enhancing transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency. It will also flag discrepancies, ensure adherence to development regulations, and generate actionable insights for both applicants and civic authorities.
The move aligns with Mumbai’s broader vision of becoming a technology-driven, investor-friendly city by improving ease of doing business, expediting real estate development, and boosting investor confidence.
The initiative was highlighted by Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde and BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide during the ‘Change of Guard’ ceremony at NAREDCO Maharashtra, where Kamlesh Thakur, Founder and MD of Srishti Group, was announced as the new President.
