MP Clears ₹1,758Cr Bhopal-Vidisha Upgrade & Major Health Push

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved the ₹1,757.55-crore Bhopal-Vidisha four-lane project, along with an extension of toll collection on the Bhopal Bypass until December 2031. The 44.83-km Bhopal-Vidisha road will be upgraded from two to four lanes with paved shoulders under the Hybrid Annuity Model, strengthening connectivity between Bhopal, Vidisha and surrounding areas.

The Cabinet also approved ₹44,515.13 crore for the continuation of key health programmes through March 2031, including the National Health Mission and Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY. Other decisions included ₹918 crore for the Forest Department’s Joint Forest Management dividend scheme, expansion of the State Industrial Security Force, tourism-linked training for homestay owners, and land allocation for the National Soybean Research Institute in Sehore.

Meanwhile, the government reviewed the state’s rainfall situation and extended the tenure of the judicial commission probing the Tokankala fire tragedy in Dewas.
