Maharashtra's power infrastructure takes a major step forward as key civil construction finishes for the ₹13,200 crore expansion at Koradi Thermal Power Station (KTPS). Spearheaded by Mahagenco, this ambitious project introduces two 660 MW supercritical units that will expand KTPS’s capacity from 2,190 MW to 3,510 MW.
Designed with sustainability in mind, the new setup integrates state-of-the-art pollution controls such as FGD and SCR systems to drastically reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. Groundwork progress is already substantial—with turbine generator raft foundations cast for both units, alongside completed boiler (Unit 11) and chimney foundations. Following the laying of the main control room foundation stone by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the project continues to advance toward seamless state-wide power distribution.
