Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited (MLDL), operating through its joint venture Mahindra Industrial Park Chennai Limited (MIPCL), has announced Phase 2B—a new 95-acre expansion of its flagship industrial park, Origins by Mahindra, in Chennai.
MLDL has signed a second supplemental agreement with Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation and Mahindra World City Developers Limited (MWCDL) to facilitate the acquisition, transfer, and development of the new land parcel.
This latest phase builds on a strategic partnership established in 2015 with Phase 1 and deepened with Phase 2A in 2024. With Phase 2B, the total footprint of Origins by Mahindra will reach approximately 540 acres, further strengthening Tamil Nadu's industrial ecosystem and positioning the park as a key hub for domestic and international manufacturers—particularly Japanese companies expanding into India.
"The execution of this Second Supplemental Agreement marks another milestone in our shared vision of expanding Origins by Mahindra," said Amit Kumar Sinha, Managing Director & CEO of Mahindra Lifespace Developers. "It reflects our commitment to creating future-ready industrial infrastructure that supports India's manufacturing growth and strengthens Tamil Nadu's position as a leading investment destination."
