Maharashtra Clears Rs 1,020-Crore Solapur Elevated Road Project

Maharashtra has cleared a Rs 1,020.50-crore elevated road project in Solapur, paving the way for a 9.66-km four-lane corridor aimed at easing congestion along NH-65.

The elevated corridor will run between Old Pune Naka and Boramani Naka through Solapur city. The project has been classified as an urgent public infrastructure work following an assessment of traffic demand and related infrastructure requirements.

A substantial portion of the land required for the project is already held by various state government departments. To expedite execution, the Cabinet has approved the transfer of this government-owned land to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) without charging occupancy value.

The project is expected to improve traffic flow, strengthen connectivity and ease congestion along the busy NH-65 stretch.
