Karamtara Secures ₹1,350 Crore for Renewable Energy Push

Karamtara Engineering, a leading name in the renewable energy and transmission sector, is set to raise ₹1,350 crore to support its business expansion and enhance production capacities.

As part of its growth strategy, the company is relocating its solar tracker piles and piers manufacturing unit to a larger facility in Gundale, Maharashtra. This new site will not only boost solar product manufacturing but also support the production of wind angular towers, addressing the rising demand for renewable energy infrastructure.

Additionally, Karamtara plans to expand its structural steel profile production in Gundale, complementing its existing Unit Profiles facility in Palghar. A new galvanizing unit will also be established in Gundale, further strengthening the company’s galvanizing capabilities alongside its current units in Tarapur and Palghar.

With these initiatives, Karamtara aims to meet the growing demand for solar mounting systems and other energy infrastructure components. The total estimated cost for these expansion projects stands at ₹193 crore, of which ₹152 crore has already been secured through financing. The remaining amount will be funded through internal accruals, with project completion targeted by FY26.

In parallel, the company is shifting its solar torque tube manufacturing facility from Tarapur, Maharashtra, to Bhuj, Gujarat, with financing efforts currently underway for this relocation.

Karamtara currently operates eight manufacturing units—seven in India and one in Italy—with a total installed capacity of 5.67 lakh tonnes per annum (TPA), including 3.74 lakh TPA dedicated to solar products. Its solar infrastructure capacity supports 13.2 GW, and it holds the largest galvanizing capacity in the solar sector at 2.58 lakh TPA.

These expansions are expected to enhance cost efficiency, optimize product designs, and improve customer service, reinforcing Karamtara’s leadership in India’s solar energy ecosystem while strengthening its global presence.
