Kolkata-based Jupiter International has officially inaugurated Unit IV at its Baddi campus in Himachal Pradesh, expanding its solar cell manufacturing capacity from 2 GW to 3.25 GW. This 1.25 GW expansion represents a Rs 550 crore investment dedicated entirely to next-generation Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) solar cell technology.
The upgrade significantly enhances Jupiter International’s ability to deliver high-efficiency solar solutions at scale. As the global solar market increasingly transitions toward TOPCon technology for its superior efficiency and long-term energy yields, this state-of-the-art facility positions the company to meet the rigorous performance requirements of both domestic and international utility-scale solar projects.
