Ircon's ₹114.47 Crore Bid to Boost Chhattisgarh Rail Corridor

Ircon International has invited bids for Overhead Electrification (OHE) and SCADA-related works on the Urga–Dharmjaigarh section, as part of the Chhattisgarh East Rail Corridor Phase-II, a new broad-gauge (BG) electrified line.

Valued at ₹114.47 crore, the contract includes the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 2x25 kV, 50 Hz, single-phase OHE traction system, switching posts, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration. The scope also involves a detailed survey and engineering of traction power systems across the designated corridor.

The project aims to enhance freight and passenger capacity in a key coal-bearing region and aligns with Indian Railways’ broader strategy to improve coal evacuation efficiency and regional connectivity through the Chhattisgarh East Rail Corridor, a high-priority infrastructure initiative.

The contract comes with a completion timeline of 10 months from the date of the Letter of Acceptance (LoA), inclusive of the monsoon period.

Interested bidders must submit their proposals by September 3, 2025.
