Innovation Hub: PennWhite India's New Chennai Manufacturing Base

PennWhite India (PWI), a subsidiary of Manali Petrochemicals (MPL), is set to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Oragadam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to produce foam control chemistry tailored for the Indian and broader Asian markets. This new plant will operate on a long-term leased site and is a key part of MPL's ongoing expansion strategy.

PennWhite, headquartered in Middlewich, UK, is renowned for its FoamDoctor brand and specialty chemicals, which are widely used in industries such as food processing, wastewater treatment, printing, oil refining, coatings, and construction. The expansion comes on the heels of MPL’s acquisition of PennWhite in November 2022.

In February 2024, PennWhite India was officially incorporated to bolster MPL’s footprint in India. "The establishment of PennWhite India Pvt Ltd last year was the first step in our long-term investment plan for the Indian market. Additionally, the recent acquisition of a competitor’s defoamer business in India highlights our commitment to expanding our presence. Today’s announcement represents the next chapter of our growth in the region," said Tobias Tasche, CEO of PennWhite Ltd, UK, and Director of PennWhite India.
