India’s First! Mandya to host ₹500Cr Construction Testing Facility.

The Karnataka government has announced the availability of 100 acres of land in Mandya for setting up India’s first construction and infrastructure equipment testing facility, estimated to cost ₹500 crore.

Minister for Large and Medium Industries MB Patil informed Union Minister for Industries and Steel HD Kumaraswamy through a written communication, requesting that the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) be directed to submit a detailed project report. This comes in response to a letter from Kumaraswamy in January seeking land allocation for the proposed facility.

The Mandya Deputy Commissioner has confirmed the availability of 105 acres across Muddanaghatta and Heggadithihalli villages in Basaralu hobli of Mandya taluk. The identified site is located just 500 metres from the Mandya–Nagamangala State Highway.

Patil noted that the land offered exceeds the original requirement and urged ARAI representatives and Union Ministry officials to conduct a joint site inspection. He added that the land will be formally allotted for the project if the location is deemed suitable.
