Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), renowned for its Taj brand of hotels, has recently inked a sub-license agreement with GMR Goa International Airport (GGIAL) to introduce a new Ginger hotel in Goa. Anticipated to debut in 2027, this venture marks a significant milestone in IHCL's expansion strategy.
Under the terms of the 60-year agreement, GGIAL and Roots Corporation (RCL), a fully-owned IHCL subsidiary, have collaborated to establish the upcoming hotel at the modern Manohar International Airport. This strategic alliance aligns seamlessly with IHCL's vision to extend its footprint across pivotal transit hubs, enhancing accessibility and convenience for travelers.
Occupying a sprawling two-acre area within the aero-city development, the 300-key hotel will emerge as a pivotal addition to the hospitality landscape. Notably, it will be the third expansive Ginger hotel situated at an international airport, following similar successful ventures in Mumbai and Bengaluru. This initiative is poised to cater to the escalating demand spurred by these strategic nodal centers.
Upon its inauguration, this new establishment will bolster IHCL's portfolio in Goa, augmenting its existing array of 15 hotels, with four currently in the developmental pipeline. Ginger, celebrated as IHCL's affordable hospitality brand, continues to epitomize quality and affordability in the hospitality sector.
