Dassault Aviation has signed four Production Transfer Agreements with Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) to manufacture Rafale fighter jet fuselages in India. A dedicated facility will be established in Hyderabad to produce critical structural components, including the rear fuselage, central fuselage, front section, and lateral shells.
Scheduled to begin operations in 2028, the plant aims to deliver up to two complete fuselages per month. Dassault Aviation described the venture as a “vital investment” in India’s aerospace sector and a key contributor to global high-precision manufacturing supply chains.
Dassault CEO Eric Trappier stated that the agreement strengthens the company’s supply base in India while upholding its global standards of quality and competitiveness. TASL CEO Sukaran Singh called the collaboration a “significant step” in India’s aerospace journey, reflecting growing international confidence in the country’s manufacturing capabilities.
This initiative aligns with the Indian government's ‘Make in India’ and AtmaNirbhar Bharat missions, marking a milestone as the first time Rafale fuselages will be produced outside France. The project is expected to significantly boost India’s role in the global aerospace supply ecosystem.
