Hwaseung Footwear, a leading South Korean manufacturer and a major global OEM supplier for brands such as Adidas, is set to invest Rs 898 crore in a state-of-the-art non-leather footwear manufacturing facility in Kuppam, Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh.
The greenfield project, approved by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), will span a 100-acre industrial campus at Pogurupalle in Gudupalle Mandal, further positioning Kuppam as a growing hub for global footwear production. The facility is projected to create approximately 17,645 direct jobs, providing a significant boost to local employment and economic development.
Hwaseung will execute the investment in three phases: Phase I at Rs 308.92 crore, Phase II at Rs 298.44 crore, and Phase III at Rs 291.53 crore. This strategic expansion underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable, non-leather footwear innovation while reinforcing Andhra Pradesh’s industrial growth trajectory and its appeal to international investors.
