HVR Solar's 2GW Gigafactory: A New Dawn for Indian Solar

HVR Solar has announced the launch of a 2GW annual solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing facility in Sonipat, Haryana—a significant milestone in India's renewable energy sector. Spread across 6.5 acres within the state’s industrial corridor, the facility will focus on producing high-efficiency N-Type Topcon bifacial modules, with output capacities reaching up to 715 Wp per unit.

Scheduled to begin operations in Q3 2025, the plant aims to cater to growing domestic and international demand for next-generation solar modules while reducing India's reliance on imports. “This expansion marks a pivotal moment in HVR Solar's journey toward becoming a dominant force in India’s solar manufacturing landscape,” said Rishabh Aggarwal, Director of HVR Solar.

Strategically located to leverage Haryana’s robust industrial infrastructure, skilled workforce, and strong connectivity to key northern markets, the facility will also improve supply chain efficiency and reduce logistics costs. Equipped with advanced automation and Industry 4.0 technologies, the plant is designed to ensure high-quality output and cost competitiveness.

The initiative is expected to create substantial employment opportunities and contribute to the region’s economic development.
