HPL Powers Up with ₹3,000 Crore Smart Metering Pipeline

HPL Electric & Power will continue to prioritise the execution of smart metering projects under the Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP) framework, according to Joint Managing Director Gautam Seth.

"On the metering front, our focus remains on capitalising on the smart metering opportunity, with an active order pipeline exceeding ₹3,000 crore. We will also pursue selective cost optimisation and strategic investments to sustain profitability," he stated.

As of August 11, 2025, the company’s smart metering order book stands at over ₹3,000 crore, with 99% comprising smart meters, ensuring strong revenue visibility. Despite the typical seasonal slowdown due to monsoon-related delays, HPL expects a robust performance in H1FY26, supported by healthy inspection activity and a steady flow of customer inquiries.

To meet rising demand, HPL has ramped up production capacity, now capable of manufacturing 11 million meters annually across its Gurugram and Jabli facilities. Component production is also supported by its Kundli (Haryana) unit, reinforcing its integrated manufacturing ecosystem.
