Hindustan Zinc Q3: Record Silver Gains & Strategic Expansion

Hindustan Zinc, the world’s largest integrated zinc producer, has announced its financial and operational performance for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2025.

During the quarter, the company reported silver production of 158 metric tonnes, marking a 10 per cent quarter-on-quarter increase. Silver contributed around 44 per cent to the company’s profits, positioning Hindustan Zinc to benefit from rising global demand for the metal. The company also completed debottlenecking at the Chanderiya Smelter, increasing refined zinc capacity by 21 KTPA, following earlier capacity expansions at the Dariba Smelter. In addition, Hindustan Zinc was declared the successful bidder for the Tungsten Block in Balepalyam, Andhra Pradesh. Debottlenecking of the cellhouse at the Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter has also been completed.

On the project front, work on the 510 KTPA fertiliser plant is progressing and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of FY27. The hot acid leaching technology project for lead and silver recovery at the Dariba Smelter is targeted for completion by the fourth quarter of FY26. The company’s 250 KTPA refined metal capacity expansion is advancing, with site work underway and completion expected by the second quarter of FY29. Meanwhile, the first 10 MTPA tailings reprocessing plant at Rampura Agucha remains on track for completion by the fourth quarter of FY28.
