Hindalco’s Green Milestone: India’s First PPT ATH Plant

Hindalco Industries Limited, the metals flagship of the Aditya Birla Group, has launched India’s first greenfield Superfine Precipitated Aluminium Trihydrate (PPT ATH) plant in Belagavi, Karnataka. With an initial annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes (expandable to 60,000 tonnes), Phase 1 is set to fulfill domestic demand for HFFR wire and cable manufacturing, significantly cutting down imports under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Developed entirely via in-house R&D, this eco-friendly facility is notable for running 100% on renewable energy—making it the world's only specialty alumina plant powered exclusively by biomass, solar, and wind.
