Uttar Pradesh is positioning itself as an emerging hub in India’s semiconductor ecosystem, with the HCL–Foxconn joint venture slated to begin operations by 2027–28.
According to State IT and Electronics Minister Sunil Kumar Sharma, the government has already allocated land for the project and is extending 60% capital support, along with essential infrastructure such as power and water. He further emphasized UP’s ambition to evolve into a global centre for electronics manufacturing.
The state is also engaging major technology companies, including Apple, and has approved the ₹27,000 crore Tarq Semiconductor project. Sharma highlighted that the electronics sector will play a significant role in UP’s mission to become a $1-trillion economy.
