The Haryana government has approved an expenditure of ₹1,028 crore for a broad set of development and infrastructure projects spanning more than 10 departments, according to an official statement.
The decisions were taken at a meeting of the High-Powered Purchase Committee chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The approved projects cover departments such as the Haryana Police Housing Corporation, DHBVN, HSIIDC, Public Works Department (PWD), Haryana Agro Industries Corporation, DMER, FMDA, GMDA, the Irrigation Department, and the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED).
The government noted that negotiations with bidders resulted in savings of around ₹96 crore. The Chief Minister directed officials to closely monitor execution to ensure timely completion and maintain quality standards, adding that project progress would be reviewed regularly and negligence would not be tolerated.
Several procurement decisions were also cleared, including the purchase of 11-metre PCC poles, single-phase and three-phase net meters, and 25 KVA transformers. Additionally, ₹29 crore was sanctioned for commodity procurement under the supplementary nutrition programme linked to the ‘Har-Hith’ retail initiative of the Haryana Agro Industries Corporation.
Among key approvals, ₹5.78 crore was allocated for implementing a Student and Faculty Life Cycle Management System in government medical colleges, while ₹6.60 crore was approved for survey work and preparation of a detailed project report (DPR) to divert stormwater from Gurugram towards the Yamuna river.
In terms of infrastructure, ₹47.20 crore was sanctioned for setting up a Home Guard and Civil Defence Training Centre in Karnal, and ₹17.75 crore for a master water supply scheme in Faridabad. An additional ₹101 crore was approved for a 665.5 MLD main pumping station in Gurugram.
Other major approvals include ₹20 crore for developing Atal Park in Panchkula, ₹109.80 crore for a shooting range sports complex in Sector-32, and ₹123.40 crore for an additional Common Effluent Treatment Plant and pumping station in Panipat’s industrial area.
In the healthcare sector, ₹15.80 crore was sanctioned for establishing a Community Health Centre in Danoda village in Jind district.
The meeting was attended by state ministers, senior bureaucrats, and officials from various departments, the statement added.
