The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has instructed the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) to prioritize land acquisition for six key roads in developing sectors to accelerate construction and address existing bottlenecks.
A GMDA official stated, “A meeting was convened to fast-track the construction of these roads, with a focus on resolving legal challenges related to land acquisition and compensation payments.” Of the 20 incomplete roads, the GMDA engineering branch has identified six critical stretches. The roads connecting Sector 71-73 and 72-72A require a 400-meter land acquisition to connect to the Subhash Chowk-Hero Honda Chowk road. Additionally, a 150-meter stretch near Bestech Park View Ananda on Rampura Road remains stalled due to a compensation dispute.
Other challenges include land acquisition delays for the Sector 66-67 road, which is meant to link to the Gurugram-Sohna highway. Furthermore, the meeting addressed the removal of barriers to the construction of storm drains and sewer lines between sectors 81 and 95. An HSVP senior official assured that efforts would be made to resolve the land acquisition issues that are holding up these crucial road projects.
