The Gujarat government has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Henox IT and Data Centre to set up a cable landing station in the Khambhat region.
The MoU was signed during a regional AI conference held in Gandhinagar and is aimed at strengthening Gujarat’s digital and data infrastructure. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel stated that the project will position the state as a major hub for hyperscale data centres and establish Gujarat as a strategic gateway for global data traffic. “This will make Gujarat a preferred destination for hyperscale and enterprise data centres,” he said.
This agreement follows earlier initiatives by the state, including an MoU signed with Lightstorm in 2022 for Gujarat’s first cable landing station. The proposed facility is expected to significantly enhance global connectivity, support the growth of AI/ML startups, fintech firms, and digital infrastructure, and attract increased international investment into the state.
