Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy recently inaugurated a palm oil processing facility at Narmetta in Siddipet district, marking a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to strengthen oil palm cultivation and expand processing infrastructure.
Developed with an investment of ₹300 crore by the state government, the plant has the capacity to process 30 tonnes of fresh oil palm fruit bunches per hour, enhancing the state’s ability to support farmers and meet growing demand in the edible oil sector.
On the same occasion, the Chief Minister also announced the release of the first tranche of ₹3,447 crore under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, aimed at providing financial assistance to farmers for agricultural inputs.
The initiative is expected to benefit nearly 70 lakh farmers across Telangana, with funds to be distributed in three phases over 45 days ahead of the upcoming agricultural season.
