Green Light for Growth: 431 Rural Projects Approved in Delhi

In a significant boost to rural infrastructure, the newly reconstituted Delhi Rural Development Board (DRDB), chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has approved 431 new projects worth over ₹1,000 crore during its first meeting.

The initiative aims to improve infrastructure across 30 assembly constituencies and 4 parliamentary constituencies in Delhi’s rural areas. The approved projects span a wide range of development works, including the construction of village and approach roads, ponds, reservoirs, parks, gyms, libraries, cremation grounds, sports fields, and community centres.

Additional works include the renovation of drainage systems, chaupals, banquet halls, and the installation of streetlights and drinking water facilities—all aimed at enhancing the quality of life in rural Delhi.

CM Rekha Gupta has instructed officials to prepare area-specific project lists to streamline approvals and ensure timely execution. The projects will be carried out in collaboration with the Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), and other relevant agencies.
