The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed a new Gateway-branded resort in South Goa, further strengthening its presence in one of India’s leading tourism markets.
The upcoming greenfield development, Gateway Resort Colva Beach Road, will span 2.9 acres and is designed to serve both leisure and business travellers. The resort will offer 175 guest rooms along with a range of modern hospitality amenities. Planned facilities include a 7,000 sq. ft. ballroom and expansive outdoor lawns, positioning the property as a preferred venue for weddings, social celebrations, and corporate events. Guests will also have access to an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a bar, swimming pool, fitness centre, and wellness treatment rooms.
With this signing, IHCL’s portfolio in Goa expands to 25 hotels, including seven currently under development. Speaking on the announcement, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate and Development, IHCL, highlighted Goa’s continued popularity as a premier leisure destination and reaffirmed the company’s long-term commitment to expanding its footprint in the state. Shrinivas V Dempo, Chairman of the Dempo Group, noted that Goa’s coastline and tourism appeal continue to attract domestic and international travellers, adding that the collaboration with IHCL marks an important development for the region’s hospitality sector.
