GAIL & RailTel: Fast-Tracking India’s Digital Backbone

GAIL (India) Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RailTel Corporation of India Limited to collaborate on the development of digital infrastructure across the country. The agreement was formalised on March 5, 2026.

The MoU was signed by S. S. Agrawal, Executive Director (O&M-CO) at GAIL, and J. S. Marwah, Company Secretary and Group General Manager (Law) at RailTel. The signing ceremony was attended by Rajeev Kumar Singhal, Director (Business Development) at GAIL, and Sanjai Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of RailTel.

The collaboration aims to leverage the network infrastructure and technological capabilities of both organisations to expand digital connectivity and telecom infrastructure across India.

RailTel, a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, operates one of the largest neutral telecom infrastructure networks in the country, primarily along railway land, enabling extensive connectivity across regions.
