G Square Group, a prominent real estate developer in South India, has acquired the 714-acre Kovai Hills project from Rakindo for ₹1,000 crore, rebranding it as G Square Seven Hills. This landmark acquisition represents a major expansion in Coimbatore’s real estate sector.
Phase 1 of the project features 3,127 premium DTCP- and RERA-approved plots spread across 406 acres, while the remaining 308 acres are earmarked for joint ventures with villa and apartment developers. Plans also include built-to-suit IT infrastructure, business parks, shopping malls, and multiplexes.
Strategically located in Kovaipudhur near Madukkarai, the township offers panoramic views of the Western Ghats, encompassing areas such as Perur, Chettipalayam, Sundakkamuthur, and Theethipalayam. Its elevated terrain and proximity to reserve forests create a cooler microclimate and verdant surroundings, making it especially attractive to early investors.
The move aligns with recent high-profile investments in the region by L&T, Capgemini, and Phoenix Mills. G Square Managing Director Bala Ramajeyam highlighted Coimbatore’s strong growth potential and the company’s vision to collaborate with larger industry players. Additionally, the location is ideal for spiritual and wellness tourism, with easy access to destinations such as Isha Yoga Centre, Sabarimala, and the Bangalore–Kochi corridor.
