Freshly Canned: Carlsberg’s New ₹100 Cr Move in Karnataka

Carlsberg India has inaugurated a new canning line at its Mysuru brewery as part of its expansion plans in Karnataka.

The development follows the company’s commitment made at Invest Karnataka 2025, where it announced an investment of ₹350 crore to upgrade and expand the Mysuru facility. The newly commissioned can line, developed with an investment of ₹100 crore, will boost production capacity to 22,000 cans per hour, enabling Carlsberg to cater to the growing demand for canned beer in the Indian market.

India Managing Director Nilesh Patel said the expansion underscores Carlsberg’s long-term commitment to India and Karnataka. “Through this expansion, we aim to sustainably produce international-quality beers, contribute to the state’s excise revenues, and generate employment for the local community,” he said.

Located in Nanjangud taluk, the Mysuru brewery incorporates several sustainability initiatives, including the use of solar power and biomass boilers. The company is also strengthening its water stewardship efforts through partnerships with local stakeholders.
