Vardhman Special Steel has announced an investment of ₹475 crore to set up a new manufacturing facility in Ludhiana, Punjab, dedicated to steel forging and machining operations.
Through this expansion, the company plans to enter the automotive components segment by leveraging technical expertise from Aichi Steel Corporation. The new facility is expected to enhance product quality consistency, ensure greater supply reliability, and improve alignment with customer requirements, while adhering to stringent Japanese quality standards.
The initiative forms part of Vardhman Special Steel’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the automotive supply chain by offering value-added products and increasing its participation in critical automotive components. The company believes the expansion will deepen customer relationships and support sustainable long-term growth.
Commenting on the development, Chairman and Managing Director Sachit Jain said, “Our foray into steel forgings is a natural extension of our steelmaking capabilities and positions us as a more comprehensive partner for automotive OEMs.”
