On 29 March 2026, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone for multiple water supply and urban development projects worth over ₹1,356 crore in Indore under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme.
The projects are aimed at strengthening the city’s drinking water infrastructure, ensuring long-term water security, and supporting sustainable urban growth. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister described the Narmada River as the lifeline of the state and highlighted its role in driving regional development. He also acknowledged the Centre’s efforts in advancing key river-linked initiatives, including the Sardar Sarovar Project, which has contributed to irrigation, industrial expansion, and water supply.
During the event, he performed the Bhoomi Pujan for the fourth phase of the Narmada project and inaugurated a sewage treatment plant at Sirpur to help reduce pollution.
Additional initiatives announced include efforts to address public grievances under the ‘Sankalp Se Samadhan’ campaign and the launch of the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan, focused on enhancing water conservation and infrastructure across the state.
