Flowing Forward: Chandigarh’s Recycled Water Project Hits 95%

Chandigarh is taking a major step forward in water conservation as its expansive tertiary treated water network nears completion. The Municipal Corporation has successfully laid about 165 km of pipelines, marking 95% progress on this eco-friendly initiative. While current sewage treatment plants generate a massive 51.1 million gallons per day of treated water, much of it previously went underutilized. By routing this supply to public parks, green belts, and industrial sectors—supported by upgraded facilities in Raipur Kalan and Dhanas—Chandigarh is successfully conserving freshwater resources for the future.
