Festo’s Bengaluru Boom: New GCC to House 600 Innovation Experts

Festo, the Germany-headquartered automation and technical education firm, has inaugurated a 71,000-square-foot Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru, with plans to scale the facility to accommodate up to 600 employees.

Situated near Electronics City, the centre currently employs over 250 professionals and has 50 open roles. Over the past year, Festo expanded its Indian workforce by adding more than 100 employees. The new GCC will deliver engineering, software development, and data analytics support to the company’s global operations, marking a significant milestone as Festo celebrates 40 years since its incorporation in India.

Ravi Sastry, Managing Director of Festo India, described the facility as “not just another building, but a strategic footprint for the future,” highlighting Bengaluru’s strong engineering talent pool as a key factor in the location choice. The centre will harness automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to strengthen Festo’s global research and development capabilities.
