Empowering Exporters: GS1 India’s Chennai Expansion

GS1 India has inaugurated its expanded Chennai Development Centre, reinforcing its efforts to help Indian exporters adopt global barcoding standards.

The facility, originally launched in 2023, has been upgraded to drive innovation in areas such as 2D barcode migration, traceability, and AI-enabled supply chain solutions. The expansion highlights the organisation’s focus on building stronger digital infrastructure to support more efficient and transparent supply chains.

According to GS1 India, the centre will support large-scale deployment of its key platforms, including DataKart, the Smart Consumer App, and the ClickIt app, along with a suite of traceability solutions. These tools are aimed at improving product visibility, enhancing data accuracy, and enabling seamless information sharing across supply networks.

With this expansion, GS1 India seeks to further assist businesses in meeting global compliance standards while accelerating innovation in supply chain technologies.
