Dhanuka Agritech is expanding its operations at its Dahej facility in Gujarat to enhance its manufacturing capabilities and boost export potential. The plant, located in the Dahej chemical zone, currently produces technical-grade pesticides, focusing on a single active molecule.
Chairman Mahesh Kumar Dhanuka stated that the company is in advanced discussions with Japanese partners to introduce additional pesticide molecules through contract manufacturing agreements. This collaboration would allow Dhanuka to diversify its portfolio and offer a broader range of agrochemical formulations.
Manufacturing in India offers a strategic cost advantage, with significantly lower overheads compared to Japan. This cost efficiency is a key factor in Dhanuka’s decision to scale production domestically.
The planned expansion and potential technology transfer from Japanese collaborators are expected to enhance Dhanuka Agritech’s competitive positioning in the global agrochemical market. The initiative is part of the company’s wider growth strategy to expand its product offerings, drive innovation, and meet rising demand in both domestic and international markets.
