Delta's $500M India Plan Accelerates with Major Krishnagiri Expansion

Delta Electronics India is expanding its Krishnagiri manufacturing facility with the addition of two new factory buildings to meet increasing demand from electric vehicle (EV) OEMs and industrial clients.

Managing Director Niranjan Nayak stated that the expansion will grow the workforce from 3,750 to 5,000 over the next three years, while ramping up production across telecom, energy infrastructure, power electronics, and EV components. The Krishnagiri facility, part of Delta’s $500 million India investment plan announced in 2015–16, has utilized approximately 65% of the committed funds to date.

Delta currently supplies EV motors, connectors, and charging stations to leading two- and three-wheeler OEMs including Ola, TVS, and Ather, and is targeting a 40% market share in the EV segment over the next three to five years.

To deepen localisation—currently at 50–55%—the company is developing a vendor park and a training ecosystem. In parallel, a 6,000-bed employee housing complex is under construction to support its growing workforce. Executive Vice President Jimmy Yiin described the expansion as a major milestone in Delta’s ‘Make in India’ strategy, underscoring Krishnagiri’s rising importance in the company’s global manufacturing footprint.
