Delhi Cabinet Approves ₹53 Cr for Integrated District Projects

The Delhi Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has approved two new funding schemes—Integrated District Project Fund and District Project Fund—with a combined allocation of ₹53 crore to fast-track small-scale infrastructure and welfare projects across the capital's 11 districts.

“The government wants smaller works to be completed at the district level itself,” said CM Gupta, emphasizing the goal of decentralising project execution and reducing procedural delays.

Under the plan, each district will receive ₹3 crore, with ₹20 crore allocated under the Integrated District Project Fund and ₹33 crore under the District Project Fund. The funding will support projects such as road and school repairs, maintenance of public toilets, dispensaries, community centres, drainage systems, and initiatives related to health, education, and flood control.

Project execution will be handled by relevant agencies, including the Public Works Department, Irrigation and Flood Control Department, and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, depending on the project type. To ensure efficient implementation, a Project Approval Committee (PAC) will be set up in each district, chaired by the District Magistrate and comprising key officials.
