Coal India has taken a major stride in its green energy transition by securing a ₹2,831.11 crore contract to develop a 600 MW solar power project at the Jalaun Solar Park in Uttar Pradesh. Awarded by Bundelkhand Saur Urja through competitive bidding, the project will feature two 300 MW blocks supplying electricity at a fixed tariff of ₹2.73 per kWh.
The company will now finalize standard regulatory procedures, including land use and power purchase agreements, before kicking off construction. Coal India has an 18-month execution timeline to commission the project once final agreements are signed, highlighting its commitment to India's clean energy goals.
