Marking a massive milestone for the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially inaugurate CG Semi’s ₹7,500-crore Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Sanand. Developed in a powerhouse partnership with Japan’s Renesas Electronics and Thailand’s Stars Microelectronics, this facility stands as one of India's first commercial semiconductor packaging and testing hubs.
Following a successful pilot line launch in August 2025 by IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the plant is now moving into full commercial production. Once fully operational, it will boast a staggering annual capacity of 5 billion chips—delivering end-to-end assembly, testing, and failure analysis for global automotive, 5G, IoT, and industrial markets. Alongside heavyweights like Tata Electronics and Micron, CG Semi’s new plant firmly cements Gujarat's Sanand region as the beating heart of India’s booming tech ecosystem.
